TrueNorthAR

TrueNorthAR is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that delivers a more trustworthy heading by fusing phone sensors with local magnetic models and real-time interference detection. Standard compass apps look precise but often drift badly near cars, rebar, power lines, or phone cases with magnets. This app continuously scores heading confidence, warns when readings are contaminated, and offers a “move-to-clean-zone” guide that helps users step a few feet to regain accuracy. It also provides true north vs magnetic north switching, declination auto-updates by location, and an AR overlay that pins a heading line to the real world for quick alignment. It’s not a miracle: in heavy interference it will tell you it can’t be trusted—better than giving a wrong number. Offline mode supports hikers and boaters without signal.
