TundraPulse

TundraPulse is a mobile + web AI app that helps organizations operating in tundra and polar regions anticipate ground instability from permafrost thaw. It combines satellite-derived indicators (surface deformation, temperature proxies, snow cover) with user-entered site notes to produce simple, actionable risk scores for specific assets: roads, pads, pipelines, towers, and camps. The app is built for low-connectivity environments: users can cache map tiles, log inspections offline, and sync when back online. Instead of academic dashboards, it focuses on operational decisions—where to send crews, which segments need inspection, and when to restrict heavy loads. Reports export to PDF and include a short “what changed” summary so managers can justify actions to regulators and insurers. Realistically, it won’t predict failures perfectly; it’s a triage tool that reduces blind spots and wasted site visits.
