TurtleTide
TurtleTide is a mobile + web app for sea turtle conservation teams that turns messy field notes and unreliable “gut feel” scheduling into a simple, data-driven patrol plan. Rangers and volunteers log nest locations, species, clutch dates, beach conditions, and disturbance events (predation, flooding, human activity) offline on their phones. The app then generates a nightly patrol roster and priority map using local historical hatch windows, temperature/rainfall signals, and team availability. It also standardizes incident reporting and exports clean datasets for permit reporting and research partners. This is not a consumer “save turtles” app; it’s operational software for organizations that already do the work and need fewer missed emergences and less burnout. Expect modest budgets and slow procurement, so pricing and onboarding must be lightweight and value must be obvious within the first week.
