ValveLabeler
ValveLabeler is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps homeowners map and label their home’s plumbing shutoff valves and fixtures before an emergency. You walk room-to-room, scan a QR/NFC sticker you place near each valve, and create a simple record: photos, what it controls (sink, toilet, whole-house), turn direction, number of turns, last-tested date, and any quirks (stiff handle, needs wrench). The app then provides a one-tap “Emergency Shutoff” screen with the most critical valves, plus reminders to test valves every 6–12 months. It also generates a printable PDF map for the utility closet or breaker panel. This isn’t magic leak detection; it’s a practical preparedness tool that reduces panic and damage when something bursts, and it’s useful for new homeowners, rentals, and multi-floor homes where shutoffs are confusing.
