VeganProof is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that helps vegans quickly validate whether a product is truly vegan, not just “plant-based.” Scan a barcode or take a label photo and the app flags common non-vegan ingredients, ambiguous additives (e.g., mono- and diglycerides), and high-risk categories (wine filtration, sugar processing, natural flavors). It then shows a confidence score and the exact evidence used: ingredient parsing, manufacturer statements, and community-confirmed notes. Users can save safe products, set personal strictness (e.g., palm oil, cross-contamination), and get alerts when formulations change. This is an AI + traditional app: AI extracts and interprets label text; a structured rules engine and curated database prevent hallucinations. The goal is not recipes—it’s reducing shopping anxiety and preventing accidental purchases.
