VerseProof is a mobile + web app that helps users verify religious quotes, verses, and screenshots circulating online by matching them to trusted editions and translations. Users paste text, upload an image, or share a social post link; the app finds the closest canonical match, flags likely misquotes, and shows the exact location (book/chapter/verse/page) with source metadata. It also highlights differences between versions (translation, edition, manuscript family where available) and provides a shareable “verification card” that links back to the cited source. This is an AI + traditional app: AI handles OCR, fuzzy matching, and paraphrase detection; the core value is a curated, transparent source library and citation trail. Realistically, the hardest part is licensing/rights and building trust with communities—so the MVP should start with public-domain texts and a small set of widely accepted editions.
