VinayaNote

VinayaNote is a mobile + web app that helps lay Buddhists and monastics track ethical commitments (Five Precepts, Eight Precepts, bodhisattva vows, personal vows) without turning practice into guilt or vague journaling. Users set a precept set, log daily check-ins in under 30 seconds, and add short context notes when they slip. The app then surfaces patterns (times, triggers, environments) and offers grounded, tradition-neutral reflections sourced from public-domain suttas and reputable teachers’ writings (with citations). It also supports “Uposatha mode” for observance days, reminders aligned to lunar calendars, and exportable summaries for meetings with a teacher or accountability partner. This is not a meditation timer; it focuses on behavior change and integrity—an area many practitioners struggle with quietly but rarely have tools for.
