VMDriftFix
VMDriftFix is a web app (with an optional lightweight desktop agent) that continuously detects configuration drift across virtual machines and hypervisors and generates safe, reviewable remediation plans. It connects to VMware vSphere, Proxmox, Hyper-V, and common Linux/Windows guest baselines, then snapshots “known-good” states for VM settings (CPU/RAM, virtual NICs, storage policies), guest OS configs (services, firewall rules, packages), and critical files. When drift occurs—often from emergency changes, patching, or automation gone wrong—it flags the exact delta, estimates risk, and proposes a rollback or forward-fix playbook. It also produces audit-ready reports for change management and compliance. This is not a generic monitoring tool; it’s narrowly focused on drift, the fastest way teams lose stability and waste hours. The MVP aims for clear diffs, approvals, and one-click remediation for a small set of high-value controls.
