VoicePledge
VoicePledge is a mobile + web AI-assisted app that helps endangered-language communities record speech while locking in clear, enforceable usage permissions per clip. Instead of dumping audio into a generic archive, every recording is created with a “consent contract” (who can access it, for what purpose, for how long, and whether AI training is allowed). The app supports offline-first recording, lightweight metadata (speaker, place, topic), and a simple review workflow so elders or language committees can approve or restrict uploads. For researchers and educators, it provides controlled access links and export packages that respect restrictions by default. It’s realistic because the biggest blocker isn’t recording—it’s trust, misuse fears, and unclear rights. This app focuses on governance and consent, not flashy translation promises it can’t reliably deliver for low-resource languages.
