WaitWise is a mobile + web app for restaurant discovery that prioritizes one thing most apps ignore: how long it actually takes to get seated and served right now. Users browse nearby spots ranked by predicted wait time, pace (fast/normal/slow), and reliability score. The app blends lightweight user check-ins ("seated at 7:12", "food arrived 7:34") with passive signals (location dwell time, optional receipt scan) to build real-time wait forecasts by daypart. Restaurants can optionally claim their page to publish live queue status, but the product works without them—critical because most restaurants won’t maintain yet another dashboard. Monetization is a mix of consumer premium (alerts, filters, no ads) and pay-per-performance leads for restaurants in dense areas. The experience is brutally practical: if you’re hungry now, you want the fastest good option, not the prettiest photos.
