WakeWatch
WakeWatch is a web app (with optional mobile field companion) that helps wind developers and operators estimate wake losses and turbulence risk between turbines using readily available inputs (layout, hub height, rotor diameter, prevailing wind rose, roughness, and basic terrain). It produces fast, decision-grade scenarios: “If we move Turbine 7 by 120m” or “If we change yaw strategy in this sector,” what happens to AEP, loads proxy, and curtailment exposure. It’s not a full CFD replacement and won’t pretend to be; it’s a practical middle layer between spreadsheets and expensive consultant studies. The app includes a simple map-based layout editor, automated data ingestion from public reanalysis datasets, and exportable reports for internal approvals and lender-style documentation. It’s positioned for teams that need speed and consistency more than perfect physics.
