WalkTrace

WalkTrace is a web app (with an optional lightweight desktop recorder) that builds process maps from what people actually do, not what they think they do. Team members record a short “walkthrough” while completing a task (screen + optional voice). The app auto-detects steps, apps used, handoffs, wait times, and rework loops, then generates a BPMN-style map and a simple SOP draft. It flags variations across multiple recordings so ops leaders can see where the process breaks, where exceptions happen, and which steps drive delays. Export to PDF/Confluence/Notion and keep a versioned process library. This is an AI + traditional app: AI extracts steps and summarizes; traditional tooling handles mapping, permissions, and governance. It’s realistic because it narrows scope to common desk workflows (support, finance ops, onboarding) rather than trying to “map the whole company” automatically.
