WarmHandoff

WarmHandoff is a mobile + web app that helps people in mental health crisis get to the right live support quickly—without pretending to replace emergency services. The app runs a 60–90 second guided check-in (risk level, location, preferred language, communication mode, safety constraints) and then executes a “warm handoff”: it connects the user to the best available option (988, local crisis lines, text/chat services, or a pre-selected trusted contact) while sharing a concise, user-approved summary so they don’t have to repeat themselves. It also provides a one-tap “stay with me” screen with grounding prompts and a timer while the connection is being made. For organizations (schools, employers, clinics), a lightweight dashboard manages approved resources by geography and hours, and tracks anonymized outcomes (connected/not connected, time-to-connection). This is an AI-assisted app, but AI is strictly constrained to triage and summarization, not diagnosis.
