Watchroom Relay is a web + mobile app that lets friends host watch parties across major streaming services while keeping playback tightly synchronized. Instead of trying to “re-stream” copyrighted video, it uses a secure device-side control layer (deep links + playback position negotiation) and a lightweight real-time sync channel so everyone’s player stays aligned within a small tolerance. Hosts can create rooms, invite via link, set “sync strictness,” and run quick calibration to account for different devices and network conditions. Voice chat is optional; the core value is reliable sync, simple onboarding, and fewer ‘you’re ahead’ interruptions. Realistically, this lives or dies on compatibility: it will start with a small set of supported services/devices and expand as integrations prove stable. Monetization is a freemium model with paid tiers for larger rooms, persistent clubs, and advanced moderation.
