WaterLabelr

WaterLabelr is a mobile app that helps people choose bottled or canned water based on what’s actually in it. You scan a barcode (or label text) and the app normalizes mineral content (TDS, sodium, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate), carbonation level, source type, and pH into a simple profile. It then compares options side-by-side and recommends alternatives based on your preferences (low sodium, high minerals, sparkling, “crisp” taste profile, budget). The app also flags misleading marketing claims and highlights missing disclosures. Realistically, this won’t replace hydration trackers; it’s for purchase decisions in stores and online. Monetization is straightforward: affiliate links for online ordering, a premium tier for advanced filters and “taste match,” and brand analytics later if traction exists. The MVP can be lean: scanning, database, comparisons, and a few preference presets.
