WaterWatchr

WaterWatchr is a mobile + web app that turns scattered river and lake data into simple, actionable alerts for people who actually need to know what’s happening today. It pulls public gauge levels, flow rates, temperature, turbidity, algae bloom advisories, and recent rainfall into one map, then lets users set thresholds (e.g., “notify me if the river rises 1 ft in 6 hours” or “lake temp above 75°F”). An AI layer summarizes what changed and why (“upstream rain + dam release likely”), and generates a plain-language risk note for flooding, unsafe boating, or poor swimming conditions. The app is realistic: it won’t “predict perfectly,” but it will reduce the time users spend hunting across USGS/NOAA/state dashboards. Monetization is via subscriptions for outfitters, marinas, municipalities, and property managers; a limited free tier supports hobbyists.
