WattCircle
WattCircle is a mobile + web app that helps households and small teams reduce energy use through lightweight social accountability and shared goals. Users create a private “circle” (roommates, family, neighbors in the same building, or a workplace pod), connect utility data via Plaid-powered bill access or manual uploads, and set a monthly kWh/$ target. The app translates usage into simple, comparable metrics (per-person, per-square-foot) and runs short weekly check-ins: “What changed?” “Any schedule shifts?” It suggests realistic actions based on the group’s patterns (e.g., peak-hour avoidance, thermostat schedules, laundry batching) and tracks savings over time. It avoids gimmicky leaderboards and instead focuses on cooperative challenges, shared rewards, and clear proof of savings. This is not magic: without data access and buy-in, results will be limited, so the product is built to work even with partial data and imperfect participation.
