WattProof is a mobile + web app that helps homeowners avoid wasting money on “green” upgrades that don’t pay back. You connect your utility account (or upload bills), enter basic home details, and optionally add smart thermostat/meter data. The app runs a simple, transparent model to estimate your baseline energy use and then simulates specific upgrades (air sealing, insulation, heat pump, windows, solar, water heater) with local climate, rates, and incentives. It outputs a ranked list by payback period, comfort impact, and carbon reduction, plus a step-by-step plan you can execute over time. It also generates a contractor-ready scope checklist so quotes are comparable. This is not magic: results are estimates, and the app clearly shows confidence ranges and what data would improve accuracy. The goal is fewer bad projects and faster adoption of the upgrades that actually work.
