WattWatchr

WattWatchr is a mobile + web app that helps households pinpoint which smart devices and appliances are wasting electricity and when. It connects to common utility smart meters (where available) and popular smart plugs to build a room-by-room “energy fingerprint.” The app highlights always-on loads, overnight spikes, and standby vampires, then suggests specific actions like scheduling routers, tuning HVAC setpoints, or replacing a failing fridge seal. It’s not a generic dashboard: it focuses on clear, dollar-based savings, with weekly “top 3 fixes” and simple before/after verification. For homes without compatible meters, it still works using a small set of optional smart plugs to sample key circuits/devices. The goal is to reduce bills without forcing users to become energy nerds or buy an expensive whole-home monitor.
