WattWise

WattWise is a web app (with optional CLI agent) that helps small-to-mid teams reduce the energy and cost footprint of their cloud and compute usage. It connects to AWS/GCP/Azure billing and monitoring, then highlights “carbon-expensive” waste: idle instances, oversized VMs, always-on dev environments, zombie storage, and inefficient schedules. It turns findings into actionable playbooks (rightsizing, autoscaling, off-hours shutdown, storage tiering) and tracks estimated kWh and CO2e avoided alongside dollars saved. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules catch obvious waste; AI summarizes findings, drafts change tickets, and suggests safe rollout plans based on usage patterns. Brutal truth: most companies won’t pay for “green” alone—so the product must win on cost savings first, with sustainability reporting as a bonus. The MVP should focus on one cloud (AWS) and a narrow set of high-confidence recommendations.
