WattWise helps homeowners and renters replace and upgrade lighting without the usual guesswork. You scan a bulb base or fixture label, and the app identifies the likely socket type (E26, E12, GU10, etc.), bulb shape, and safe wattage/LED equivalent range. It then recommends compatible bulbs and fixtures from multiple retailers, filtered by brightness (lumens), color temperature, CRI, dimmer compatibility, and “looks like” style (warm cozy vs. clinical). A simple room profile tracks what you already installed so you can reorder the same bulb later, avoid mixing color temperatures, and estimate monthly energy cost changes when switching to LED. It’s not magic: some fixtures have missing labels or odd bases, so the app will sometimes ask for a quick manual confirmation. But it dramatically reduces wrong purchases and return headaches.
