WattWitness is a mobile + web app that turns messy home energy data into clear, actionable savings. It connects to smart meters/utility Green Button data and popular smart plugs to build a room-by-room “always-on” baseline, then flags abnormal spikes and likely culprits (e.g., aging fridge cycling too often, space heater left on, pool pump schedule drift). It focuses on realistic actions: schedule changes, standby power cuts, and appliance replacement timing with payback estimates. The app avoids gimmicks by showing confidence levels and the exact data behind each recommendation. It also supports simple “before/after” experiments so users can verify savings. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for data ingestion, dashboards, and alerts; AI for anomaly detection, device attribution, and plain-language explanations.
