WaveYield

WaveYield is a web + desktop app for tidal and wave power developers that turns messy ocean data into finance-ready energy yield and downtime estimates. Users ingest metocean hindcasts/forecasts (NOAA, Copernicus, ECMWF, buoy feeds) and site-specific constraints (device power curve, cut-in/out, maintenance windows, grid limits). The app outputs P50/P90 annual energy production, expected curtailment, weather-window availability, and uncertainty ranges with an auditable methodology report lenders can review. It also tracks forecast skill over time by comparing predictions to buoy/ADCP measurements, so teams can quantify model bias instead of arguing opinions. This is not a “pretty tide chart”; it’s a decision tool for early-stage feasibility and pre-FEED where bad assumptions kill projects. Realistically, it wins by being narrow, credible, and report-driven rather than trying to be a full digital twin platform.
