WeatherGap is a mobile + web app that helps outdoor athletes pick the safest, most realistic time window to go—without pretending it can “predict” the mountains perfectly. Users choose an activity (hike, climb, MTB, paddle, ski tour), location, and time flexibility. The app then compares multiple forecast models and nearby stations, highlights disagreement (uncertainty), and outputs simple “go / caution / no-go” windows with plain-language reasons (wind loading, lightning risk, freeze-thaw, heat index, river rise). It also supports trip checklists tied to conditions (e.g., bring microspikes if overnight low + melt/refreeze pattern). This is not a social network or a map replacement; it’s a decision-support layer that sits on top of existing planning habits. Monetization: freemium with paid “pro” for model comparison, alerts, and saved zones.
