WebWeaveID is a mobile + web AI-assisted spider and arachnid identification app built for real-world decisions: “Is this likely harmless, or should I keep distance and call a pro?” Users snap a photo, answer a few guided questions (location, size, behavior, indoors/outdoors), and get a ranked match with a confidence score, lookalike warnings, and region-specific safety notes. It also includes a “bite concern” flow that clearly states limitations (most ‘spider bites’ aren’t) and provides conservative guidance, including when to seek medical care. The app focuses on local accuracy by using regional species packs and seasonality rather than pretending it can identify every spider on Earth equally well. A community verification layer lets vetted contributors confirm or correct IDs, improving the dataset over time.
