WeldWatch
WeldWatch is an AI-powered computer vision quality-inspection app for small and mid-sized fabrication shops that can’t justify a full-blown industrial vision system. Using a phone or a simple fixed camera, it guides operators to capture consistent images of weld beads and then flags likely defects (undercut, porosity, lack of fusion indicators, inconsistent bead width) with an annotated overlay and a confidence score. It generates a lightweight inspection report (photos, timestamps, operator, part ID, pass/fail rationale) that can be exported for customer QA or internal traceability. The product is intentionally narrow: it does not claim to replace certified weld inspectors or guarantee code compliance. Instead, it reduces rework and catches obvious issues earlier, when fixes are cheaper. Setup includes a calibration card workflow and per-part “golden sample” baselines to handle different materials and lighting.
