WindScout

WindScout is a web + mobile app for early-stage wind project screening that helps developers and land teams quickly decide whether a site is worth deeper study. It combines public GIS layers (wind resource, terrain, land cover, protected areas, grid proximity, aviation constraints) into a simple scorecard and a map-first workflow. Users can drop a pin, draw a parcel, and instantly see red flags, likely permitting friction, and rough interconnection distance. It won’t replace full micrositing, met masts, or consultant-grade studies—those are still required—but it can prevent weeks of wasted outreach on sites that were doomed from the start. The product focuses on speed, traceable sources, and exportable reports that can be shared with internal stakeholders and landowners. Think “go/no-go in an afternoon,” not “bankable energy yield.”
