WindShift
WindShift is a mobile + web AI-assisted meteorology app that alerts users to meaningful wind regime changes (direction, gustiness, shear proxies) at specific sites—not generic “windy today” forecasts. It blends short-term model guidance with on-site observations (personal weather stations, airport METARs, and optional low-cost anemometers) to produce a simple “Shift Risk” score and a timeline of likely change windows. The app is designed for people who make go/no-go decisions: drone pilots, event operators, construction supers, and small marine crews. Users set geofenced locations, thresholds (e.g., crosswind limits), and operating hours; the app then pushes alerts only when thresholds are likely to be exceeded. The MVP focuses on a few high-signal metrics, clear uncertainty ranges, and post-event verification so users can see whether the system is actually reliable rather than marketing fluff.
