WireVerify helps shoppers and IT admins avoid buying the wrong USB-C, HDMI, or charging cable by verifying real-world capabilities. You connect the cable between your phone/laptop and a small, inexpensive USB-C test dongle, and the app runs a guided test to detect negotiated power (PD profiles), data mode (USB 2.0/3.x), video alt-mode hints, and basic continuity checks. It then generates a plain-English “works for” label (e.g., 100W charging yes, 10Gbps no, 4K60 maybe) plus a shareable report for returns or procurement. The app also stores a personal cable inventory with photos, lengths, and tags so you stop guessing which cable is safe for high-watt chargers or fast external SSDs. This is not magic: without the dongle, results are limited, and the app is upfront about uncertainty.
