WithholdIQ is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps finance and tax teams apply the correct tax treaty withholding rates on cross-border payments (dividends, interest, royalties, services) before funds go out the door. Users enter payer/payee countries, entity types, beneficial owner status, and payment category; the app returns a practical rate recommendation, required conditions (e.g., LOB tests, holding periods), and a checklist of documents to collect (residency certificates, forms, declarations). It stores evidence in a payment-level audit trail so teams can defend positions during audits and reduce over-withholding refund headaches. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional rules/workflows for determinism, plus AI to extract key fields from PDFs and flag missing or contradictory facts. It’s not a magic “one-click compliance” tool—complex cases still need advisors—but it meaningfully reduces routine errors and rework.
