WokLabel is a mobile AI app that helps you understand Chinese grocery items fast—especially sauces, spices, noodles, and frozen foods. Point your camera at a Chinese label or ingredient list and it translates, explains what the product is used for, flags common allergens (peanut, sesame, shellfish, soy, wheat), and suggests realistic substitutes available in your region. It also warns about tricky items like different “vinegars,” multiple types of soy sauce, and chili products with very different heat/salt levels. The app includes a small, curated “Chinese pantry” guide that’s actually practical (20–30 essentials), plus quick recipe suggestions based on what you scanned. Brutal truth: translation apps exist, and recipe apps are everywhere; this only works if it’s faster, more accurate for food terms, and focused on shopping decisions, not generic translation.
