WorkzoneWeave

WorkzoneWeave is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for cities and contractors to plan lane closures and construction schedules with fewer traffic blowups. Users draw a proposed work zone on a map, set dates/times, and the app simulates expected queue length and delay using historical speed data plus live feeds where available. It then suggests lower-impact windows (e.g., shift start time by 90 minutes, shorten taper length, split closure into two nights) and generates a permit-ready traffic control summary. The honest reality: it won’t “solve traffic” and it won’t be perfect without good data, but it can reliably prevent the worst self-inflicted congestion by catching obvious conflicts (multiple closures on parallel arterials, event nights, school dismissal peaks). The product focuses on operational decisions that agencies actually control: timing, location, and closure configuration.
