YawGuard
YawGuard is a web + mobile AI app for wind farm operators that detects yaw misalignment and underperformance using SCADA data plus public weather reanalysis. It ingests 10‑minute turbine signals (power, wind speed, nacelle direction, pitch, status codes) and compares expected vs actual power while accounting for wake effects and curtailment flags. The app highlights turbines likely losing energy due to yaw sensor drift, vane faults, or control tuning issues, then quantifies the revenue impact and prioritizes work orders. It’s not a full-blown digital twin—those are expensive, slow to deploy, and often overkill. Instead, it focuses on one high-ROI problem with clear verification: fix yaw, see power recover. Integrations target common historian/SCADA exports first (CSV/SFTP), then expand to APIs. Reports are built for asset managers: “lost MWh,” confidence, and recommended checks.
